The Twister Special Edition is the only Twister whose clip carries matching fluted milling — the spiral language continues off the barrel and onto the clip, which the standard Twister leaves plain. It is the detail that separates the two at a glance.

The finish is the other. This one is Grade 5 Titanium, anodized — and anodized titanium is not paint. No pigment is added at all. Running current through the barrel grows a clear oxide layer a few hundred nanometres thick, and that layer splits the light falling on it. What you see is interference — the same effect as oil on water — so the colour is the metal's own surface, not a coating sitting on top of it.

Voltage sets the colour. Thicker oxide, longer wavelength — roughly: the low twenties bring the barrel up bronze and gold, around thirty it turns violet, the forties blue, the fifties and sixties into teal and green, higher still into magenta. The exact numbers shift with the bath, so treat those as approximate. What holds is that each colour here is one setting on that dial: it cannot be mixed or matched by eye — you go back to the voltage.

Baja Blast is the exception, and the reason this edition exists: rather than holding one voltage, the barrel is anodized in segments — worked in stages, each segment taken to its own voltage, so the oxide steps up along the twist. Run close enough together the steps stop reading as steps: teal climbing through blue into violet at the crown. We call it the fade. It follows the helix, and it moves as the pen turns in your hand.

The highs of the flute are then taken back to a satin cut, revealing bare machined titanium along every ridge. Colour in the valleys, raw metal on the peaks: the milling does the work, the anodizing just follows it.

Six finishes, each on Grade 5 Titanium:

Baja Blast — the fade: teal grading up through blue into violet.
Green — deep anodized teal-green.
Blue — clean mid-voltage blue.
Gold — low-voltage bronze and amber.
Magenta — high-voltage pink.
Purple — violet, just past the blue band.

Underneath, it is the v.03 in full: adjustable set screw for refill versatility, nose tips reamed to size (2.4mm / 2.5mm / 2.6mm), single-piece barrel. Grade 5 Titanium, machined in-house in Los Angeles.
