When will it become available again?
Great pen. Sturdy, good balance.
Scratches easily so be careful. But overall an amazing product.
I get compliments on this pen daily. Feels great in hand, and looks amazing
Very nice pen, well priced!
Great heft and balance. Feels and looks like a quality pen.
Looks and feels great, but the writing is uneven and I have to shake it every now and then to get ink out. At least the ink doesn't smear. Also it tends to loosen at the middle/main body.
Bolt Action Pen - M - Chrome
Overall, this is a really nice feeling pen. Im am a big fan of the fineliner style ink refills and happy to find a nice looking pen that can fit them. I think i would of liked the medium sized a bit more, but the large still feels very comfortable.
I know the medium size won't fit the fineliner inks, but with a little design modification to the bolt mechanism, it would be able to fit them. That would however, require a whole redesign.
But there are a couple other things on this pen that really should be changed before that. First and most importantly is the direction the bolt slides to lock. Currently it goes to the left, and from a personal preference point of view, I think it should slide to the right. As a right handed individual this feels more natural and left of a strain on the thumb. Aside from personal preference, having the bolt slide to left can cause the bottom half of the pen to unscrew slightly. This is remedied by over tightening the pieces, but this would not be an issue if the bolt slid to the right.
Also i think it would look good and feel nice to have some grip on the pen. And I probably will toss this in the lathe and add some grip lines. I'm just unsure if I will like how the grip will be brass compared to the black.
I purchased the bolt action pen in medium size, it came with the schmidt p8126 refill. The refill did not work properly, so I contacted customer service and they sent two free refills without a problem. Very good customer service. The pen itself is great, the bolt mechanism is snappy and smooth and has great weight. 5 stars!
